Spain is a well-kept secret for people who love culinary and travel adventures.  Inland from the sunny Spanish coasts and famous beaches there are treasures of art and architecture, monuments and relics from human civilizations-- back to Neanderthal peoples who thrived on the Iberian Penninsula. Regional cuisines built on the wealth of Mediterranean resources offer a banquet of diversity for travelers who come to interior Spain. You'll find the hearty hospitality of people who take great pride in their long history and rugged lands.

Beyond rustic villages of Soria, and nestled in landscapes of stark natural beauty, truffles are collected from wild natural woodlands.  And with the introduction of modern truffle cultivation techniques in the past 50 years, these winter truffles are gathered from managed truffle orchards as well.  This is a region that takes great pride in mycological gastronomy and their world-class wines.

We will host small groups to explore the heart of one of Spain’s most important Black Truffle regions in the province of Soria. Here you can explore medieval towns and the unique limestone landscapes that helped to shape history as well as provide habitat for this unique fungus that fruits in the cold of winter—the Black Truffle.

Soria is a mountainous province rich in forests and rivers with its capital city, Soria, on the banks of the Duero River, a river that cuts across this province, shaping its history and giving name to one of Spain’s finest wine appellations, D.O. Ribera del Duero. You can´t miss this city’s lively tradition for enjoying regional wines and tapas!

The Duero River, for many centuries marked the border between the Christian and Moorish lands. Years of conquest and settlements along this river have left its mark with monumental fortifications and castles, mosques and churches, and with linguistic, agricultural and culinary roots that can still be appreciated today.
